Please recommend a good 3-4* hotel in Porto, near the city center. This is our first time in Porto and would like a nice, upscale hotel that is centrally located. We will be staying several nights and doing side trips to Douro Valley, Santiago, Coimbra and Aveiro. Our trip is in early October.
Please recommend restaurants in Porto for lunch and dinner. We like to explore different foods and are open to different venues, both moderately priced and higher priced.

Last September we stayed at the NH Porto Jardim. We did have a rental car and it has its own garage. From it we walked everywhere. It had a very good breakfast buffet. Also, if you need to do laundry there is a self service laundry a few minutes walk from it.

Hello, We absolutely loved Casa Kala, great location in the historic center. Boutique, with. only few rooms. The staff was lovely, the breakfast very nice. Even being close to the main shopping street is a very tranquil and quiet space, it's a renovated old mansion. If you get a chance try their Wine tasting and Fado, it's very informative. www.casakala.com
