Would love to hear your recommendations for hotels in Lisbon. My general criteria:
around 200 dollars per night, good breakfast, close to city center but not in action on busy loud street,air conditioning, and welcoming staff

Hi Mike,
We stayed at The Mundial in Lisbon, it was clean and had a large breakfast buffet included. They had a really good promotion when we went a couple summers ago. It's probably worth taking a look at it.

We've stayed and recommended with rave reviews, Brown's Downtown Hotel (https://www.brownshotelgroup.com/brownsdowntown/). If your budget allows it, the Suite with Castle View is pretty nice.
We stayed in Hotel Lisboa Plaza and really enjoyed it. The rooms were nothing special but were clean and comfortable. The location was great, the staff was very helpful, and the breakfasts were some of the most memorable we've ever had at a hotel.
