We are planning a couple nights in Lisbon in September before heading to Spain. Looking for some hotel recommendations - clean, reasonably priced, not too far from the airport and if possible, in a good central location to see some of the sites.

Lisbon airport is close to the sites, so you don't need to be concerned about being close to the airport. If your accommodations are close to a metro stop, then it's very easy to use public transportation. It's also inexpensive to take a taxi, uber, or bolt to the airport.
