The Lisbon Airport is close to the city center so no need to stay at the airport.

You can get to the airport via public transportation or you can ask your hotel to arrange a taxi.
We took a taxi for convenience sake.

As others have mentioned, Lisbon is close to the airport, so there are inexpensive transportation options. However, if you have a very early morning flight and want to be closer, there are a couple of hotels that are walking distance from the airport: Star inn Lisbon Airport and Meliá Lisboa Aeroporto.

Stayed at the Meliá hotel. It was very nice. Restaurant thought they were better than they were. They have a shuttle but it was crowded for us so we ended up taking an Uber which was 5e. Lisbon airport took a lot longer than we expected. We started out for 3 hours ahead of our flight. By the time we waited for shuttle, opted and waited for Uber, got to the airport and etc, only about 20 minutes extra time.

We stayed at Star Inn Lisbon which is across the street from Meliá. We walked it, there was a sidewalk, it was 15 minutes. Also, walked to the airport for dinner options and back.

Have stayed at the Meliá several times. Have only used the shuttle once as it’s an easy walk. Although the walk back to the airport is uohill. They have a nice breakfast that I believe starts at 4a for early flights.
