We will be going to Madeira for 6-7 days in June after our Rick Steves' Heart of Portugal tour. We're looking for hotel suggestions, preferably within a 20 minute walk to town. The Cliff Bay was recommended in a couple of older posts about Madeira, but we're wondering if people have also had good experiences at other places. Also, are there guides you would recommend for things like Jeep tours and lavada walks and hikes?
