Help with 9 Day Itinerary In July

My wife & I (mid-fifties) & our 23 year old daughter will be going to Portugal the second week of July. We will have nine full days and eight nights to enjoy the country. This is our first time in Portugal and are looking for help with our itinerary. We will be flying in and out of Lisbon. Based on what I have read thus far, I think we were probably looking at Lisbon, Porto, Combra & Evora. Any help with suggestions would be appreciated. We will not be renting a car and would have to rely on the train. Also, looking at the map, I was thinking of starting in Porto (3 nights) and then train to Combra (1 night) and then train to Evora (1 night) and then to finish in Lisbon (3 nights) Does this sound reasonable and any recommendations for "must sees" would be appreciated.

Thank You.

With only eight nights, staying in four places will be rushing too much, IMO. I would suggest you stay only in Porto and Lisbon. You can do a day trip to Evora from Lisbon, but you can also easily fill your entire time in Porto and Lisbon.

All of the cities you mention are served by trains. If you purchase tickets ahead of time (up to 30 days), the prices are very inexpensive.
