Has anyone tried BlaBlaCar ride sharing recommend on Rome2rio?

Was looking for best way from Lisbon to Seville on the app Rome2rio and it suggested ride sharing through BlaBlaCar. Anyone used it?

I just tried to answer your other question. Here's what I said, with some editing since you realized that the red car meant rideshare.

I wouldn't do that no matter how cheap! But I don't use Uber or Lyft either.

However, I did find this link to information in English with prices in pounds. You can search for Seville and your date. Pay very close attention to where the car would pick you up in Lisbon and drop you off in Seville. From the repetition of drivers over time, it looks like these are people who are making a living doing this. I would expect that their cars are small and have little luggage space, so I hope you're packing light.

Bus and Train-Bus options, both passing through Faro look reasonable to me for price and time.

Direct flight may be the shorter option, and there are bus rides to and from the airports calculated into the Rome2rio time estimate.

You don't say when you are going, but using Google Flights, one way, nonstop, Lisbon to Seville, I'm seeing prices as low as $69 on TAP (Tap Air Portugal) mostly in June.

There are a few lower prices on some days in May. In July they are much higher and they don't really drop again until November.

To see that calendar, just use the default date. Click on the date box and the calender will pop up. Be sure you have selected one way and nonstop. The default search screen has round trip with an arrow down for one way and multi-city.

For me it would be a decision about whether I wanted to see the landscape up close and personal or from several thousand feet -- especially if the potential cost was the same and I had plenty of time.

So have you actually used Bla Bla car? I was trying to find research on this with actual users. Have had some responses on tripadvisor and seems generally like folks thought it worked really well. And enjoyed using it. I'm thinking of using it for my family to get from Seville to Faro this summer.

Very interesting . Not sure this is the best option for two ladies in their 70s. Thank you for your tips.

Suzanne,

Could you clarify what you mean by the "best way" - quickest, cheapest, etc.?

Of the options shown on Rome2Rio, my first choice on that route would probably be a flight although that won't be the cheapest option. The easiest method if you don't mind a long ride would be the Bus (looks like one change in Faro) or the Bus / Train combo (again, one change in Faro).
