Guerin's premium gold collision damage waiver

Their basic CDW has a 2829e deductible, and the premium gold CDW has no deductible. However, under the banner for premium gold on their website, it shows "30%" next to "Excess reduction" (excess = deductible or is it something different?). So does the premium gold reduce my risk to zero or by 30%?

I've sent a message to Guerin to get their response but also want to ask people on this forum.

I have never used Guerin, but it sounds overly complicated to put fear into you to encourage you to buy extra coverage which you may not need.

Compare Zest Car Rental, which has a zero excess collision damage waiver included. Free cancellation up to 48 hours before pick up. Free extra driver. Breakdown assistance. Simple.

Some of the Zest partners eg RentCar4Less, which I have used, do not require a security deposit hold.

Some damage like tires, windshield etc are not covered by the zero excess coverage. Think about if you got a flat at home, you would have to pay for tire repair or replacement on your own. If you are not comfortable with that while on vacation, zest will sell you "top off" insurance for about USD$6 per day depending which company you choose. In my situation, I confirmed with my credit card that the card would cover this, so I did not buy this coverage.

Email Zest If you have any questions and Zest will usually respond within 12 hours.

I did a lot of research in this forum, tripadvisor and google before our Portugal trip in 2023. For Portugal, I found Zest has the best reviews.

Good luck.
