Has anyone stayed in this neighborhood? Would you recommend it? We found a lovely airbnb there. Thanks for your help!
I’ve not spent a lot of time in Graça but do know it’s an older part of the city and the highest point. The views are spectacular but public transport is limited to Tram 28. If you don’t mind the hills and fighting the crowds on Tram 28, it would likely be a nice area to stay. Just be aware it’s a trek to any neighborhood other than Alfama or to the metro, trains, etc.
Thanks Kathryn! How about the Mouraria district? Or, is there another neighborhood in Lisbon you'd recommend? We're looking to stay in an airbnb...preferably not in the throngs of tourists.
At least a portion of Mouraria is relatively flat. It’s also close to Montim Moniz, which is close to Baixa. There is a metro station in Montim Moniz, which also is at one end of Tram 28. I would be more comfortable there since my old knees don’t like the hills! It’s not as much on the tourist radar, too.
Thanks Kathryn!
