Hi, My Mom and I will be traveling to Portugal in October. She has Celiac and needs to eat gluten free. Does anyone have restaurant recommendations in Lisbon and Porto? We will buy food from a grocery store to help with trips but would like some special meals out. Thanks!

While I don’t have specific recommendations, I have a friend with the same issue and I eat lunch out with her at least once a month. She really has very little problem finding food in restaurants she can eat. The fish is usually grilled and serviced with boiled potatoes or French fries - and rice. The veggies are steamed - usually way too much. Beef and pork in restaurants usually comes with the same things.
We have many Indian and Asian restaurants that could accommodate her, too. One can almost always find menus online and outside the restaurant. So, checking out the options for her should be easy.

Great to hear your friend doesn't have many issues finding restaurants. It can still be a headache here in the States depending on location. Thank you for your comments! I'll go over them with her.
