How can I get from Porto to Lamego? I will not have a car. Can you recommend a tour guide/driver or is their a train?
Also, do you recommend going to Lamego, taking the boat ride (few hours or half day), or doing both of these? If boat - then which company? Thanks in advance for everyone's help with this.

Lamego is about 15km from the Douro. No idea about taking a boat ride from it. We enjoyed walking up the 600 steps to visit the small Santuário de Nossa Senhora dos Remédios chapel. When we were there last year there was a festival taking place, so plenty of things to look at.

No train from Porto to Lamego.
There is a bus from Porto Campanhã to Lamego from Redeexpressos.

Or
You can take a tour ( the tour uses a train from Porto São Bento to Régua and then a minivan).
I haven't used them, can't review.
