Reading some other posts makes me want to leverage your collective experience! I am overwhelmed by the possibilities for winery and food tours, and classes.
We will have 4 nights in Tavira/ Algarve, 2 nights in Alvito (small town in Alentejo, near Evora) and 3 nights in Caldas da Rainha (roughly between Obidos and Alcobaça, see my other question about sites in that area). We have a car booked. We won't have much time in Lisbon and we're not visiting Porto, Coimbra or the Douro region this time.
So, anybody have a neat experience they'd like to recommend in one of the areas we are visiting? Also open to something outdoorsy, like maybe a boat tour of the Rio Formosa sanctuary area in the Algarve.
