Flying TAP back from Portugal to US (since COVID test requirement elimination)

Long shot that anyone will read this that has already left Portugal via TAP since the test requirement was eliminated on Sunday to enter US, but on the off chance....

Did TAP still ask you for test results? Because I got my check in email today from them and it still says test results are required per the CDC's Dec 6, 2021 mandate. And it tells me I've got to fill out the old attestation form signing under penalty of perjury that I received negative test results within the prior day.

I'm worried TAP hasn't discontinued the requirement since Sunday and we'll be refused boarding, although I would have thought there would be a lot of angry passengers at the airport tweeting and instagramming and posting on forums like here about it if that's been happening. I know there's testing in the Lisbon airport, though I'm hoping not to have to count on doing that and making my flight in time. Anyone with intel?

It can take big companies a while to change a process and rewrite the email with necessary approvals. That email could easily have been queued for distribution before the changed requirement.

I never had to fill out the attestation form for my United flight and that was before the change.

If you go to the TAP website, they link you to Sherpa where it shows the updated requirements from CDC dated June 14th.

No proof of negative pre-departure COVID-19 test results or recovery certificate

Description:
Travelers are not required to present proof of negative COVID-19 results or recovery certificates before traveling to the United States.

Details and exemptions: The CDC still recommends travelers get tested for current infection with a COVID-19 viral test maximum of 3 days before departure and not travel if they are sick.

They also have a section called "Plan your trip around changes announced by governments" where the update regarding not needing a covid test is listed .

Just curious about your experience on the way into Portugal from the US on TAP. Did they check for proof of Covid test, or was the US Vaccine documentation sufficient? I get mixed messages on the TAP website:

Any clarity on your experience would be helpful!

Yeah, what's on their website is not totally consistent with their practices which was my concern. On our check in to fly out, they asked for vaccine card OR test results and were very satisfied with the cards we showed them, even though we also had test results. Nothing was requested at immigration upon arrival.

TAP wasn't my concern on the way outbound though. Well, it was because I wanted to board the flight, but you I was more worried about having the right test results for immigration if they asked. It is still a requirement, technically. I personally wouldn't risk it, even with all the reports here that, like me, others weren't checked. But up to you of course!
