Flying into Lisbon today

I know there have been multiple posts about Covid rules for Portugal and I have responded to some of them myself, but I thought I’d give my experience today. I flew from Barcelona to Lisbon nonstop on TAP. I had been expecting to get a rapid antigen test 24 hours before my flight but on Monday I saw on the TAP website that American vaccination cards were accepted. Since I was taking a flight within the Schengen zone, I knew I wouldn’t be going through immigration or any other checkpoints in Lisbon, so I took it that if our vaccination cards were good enough for TAP, there was no need to get tested, even though the Portugal Tourism website still doesn’t list our vaccination certificates as being accepted. In fact I was never asked to show my vaccination card or any test at any point in the flight. It was like 2019 all over again. The check-in desk didn’t ask, we weren’t asked to show anything when we boarded the flight and obviously there were no checkpoints on the Schengen side of the airport.

I’m not posting this as proof that Portugal no longer requires any documentation of vaccination or a negative test, but simply my experience today.

Thanks for your report, Bill. I'm headed to Portugal next month and am keeping an eye on requirements. My head tells me that I should have a negative test documented just to be on the safe side. My more adventurous (?) self says, "Try it and see what happens." I'm predicting that the former will win out over the latter. My adventurous self has sometimes gotten me into trouble.
