I took the Ryan Air flight between Porto and Faro a few years ago and it's the fastest way to get between Porto and the Algarve. Just be sure to read all the fine print when buying tickets on Ryan Air, as with many budget carriers, they charge for any extra, such as checked bags, seat assignments and snacks. As a tall person, I always pay for a seat in the Exit row and also for a checked bag, as the overhead bins tend to be smaller and the flights are usually quite full.
