I have a tentarive itinerary set up. I would like to fly from Ponta delgado to ? With the goal of getting to Porto. I would like to either base myself in Porto or fly somewhere else and then go to Porto. I will have already been in Lisbon. Any suggestions?

Fly from Ponta Delgada direct to Porto on either SATA or Ryanair. That is your only other option to mainland Portugal, aside from Lisbon.

I can't help with your exact question the way Carl has, but can share two great tips I learned on this Forum.

Remember that not all flights are daily, and when a flight is "seasonal" the season can be long or short.
