We are booked for the RS tour ending Oct 8. We have 5 days before flying home. We are tossing around heading into Spain but feel it may be to ambitious after a tour OR stay out in the Porto region, do a river tour and possibly stay on the ocean and relax. Any suggestions welcome.

You departing from Porto?
From Porto to Spain is not to far away, depending on what you most enjoy to see, but Portugal has also a lot of options that are not usual mentioned on internet but very good as Parque Natural do Gerês, etc.
1 trip from Porto to Madrid is around 5.30 hours.

Galicia is indeed strong on gastronomy and culture regarding the Portuguese story and the most close of Spain, so you can identify the differences between both countries.
