February in the Algarve

Hello all, first of all I would like to thank you all for your invaluable experiences and suggestions. We will be making our first visit to Albufeira for the month of February. We won't have a car so my question is, can you advise what we must see while we are there. What is the public transportation like and what trips should we take via bus etc.
Looking forward to your input.

For a start, see Portugal's rail map at https://www.cp.pt/passageiros/en/how-to-travel. It doesn't list all the stops, but you can expect stops at most towns along these lines. Beyond that, you have to search for buses, which can be operated by multiple private companies. www.eva-bus.com and www.algarvebus.info are two of those. There's bus service further along the coast to Cape Sagres, but less than in high tourist season. Don't count on any buses on Sundays unless you confirm them.

Public transport in the Algarve is pretty sparse. If there is any way you can rent a car, I highly advise it. If you are concerned about driving, the area is very easy driving. And, especially in February, there will be little traffic.
