Fatima by Bus and Hotel Options in Fatima

We are going on the 8 Day Heart of Portugal Rick Steves trip in March 2027. We would like to go a day early and visit Fatima. Does anyone have hotel recommendations for nice but not luxury in Fatima places to stay for one night.

We are considering flying in and out of Lisbon and using buses to get to Fatima and Porto. If any one has any knowledge to share about taking the bus between cities in Portugal, I'd love to here your thoughts and advice.

I don't think this meets your needs, but we took a full-day bus tour that included Fatima (25 minute tour plus maybe 40 minutes free-time?) I don't remember which of the big companies it was, but the departure was walkable from our downtown hotel. Another stop probably was the Monastery of Batalha.

I have stayed at Hotel Aleluia and can fully recommend an overnight there. It is located across the street from the sanctuary.

Many years ago I took a full day Gray Line bus tour that included Fatima. It offered a good amount of time at Fatima and other stops. You could include Obidos on this day trip.

There’s more to Fátima than just the sanctuary and Plaza in front of it. A couple miles away are the children’s houses and sites where the Angel of Peace appeared twice, and Mary appeared. Taking one’s time it would be easy to spend a half day or longer there,

We’ve had a rental car the times we’ve visited.
