Staying in Faro and wondering has anyone had any experience and advice on transportation for round trip day trips from Faro to Quarteira, Faro to Albufeira. Possibly Lagos.
Thanks guys for any information.

Vamus bus #9 goes from Faro bus terminal to Quarteira bus terminal and Albufeira bus terminal.
We purchased the Vamus card ( it saves about 30% of regular fares), one card is valid for two people - just tap twice.
The card can only be purchased at the Vamus terminals.

Albufeira has a local bus called Giro, it's a separate cash fare.

I wrote a trip report that has a photo of the Vamus card if you want to check it out, scroll to almost the end of the report.

We will look for the bus station and also purchase the card. Maybe even see if we can get a bus schedule for the return hours, I have seen a YouTube video of a passenger tapping the card boarding the bus, I get it now.
I had read the bus doesn’t actually go into town and it’s either a short walk in or a bus “transfer” in. Is that correct?
Your trip info was fantastic by the way.

In Faro the bus terminal is in town a short walk ( Westerly ) from the marina.

In Quarteira the bus terminal is in town.
From the roundabout beside the bus terminal you can see the ocean, there's a nice walking promenade along the beach with restaurants and cafe's.

In Albufeira the bus terminal is in outskirts of town, you can walk to the downtown or take the local bus - Giro.

We tried using the Vamus app but didn't work well for us so we took photos of the bus schedules posted at the terminal door in Quarteira.

I tried to put info on the trip report that would be helpful to other tourists, glad you found it useful.
