I had read a comment about what the poster described as the best meal he had in Portugal, at Taverna Tipica Quarta Feira in Evora, and boy, was that right! I'm so glad I followed up on that, since we had a spectacular meal there. It's hard to describe--the chef brings out an array of wonderful things, explaining each, and each is better than the last. Not inexpensive, but well worth every cent! Most highly recommended!

we too had an incredible meal here in September 2018. Must book in advance, and must be prepared whatever the chef cooks without any modifications. Look for them on Facebook - we contacted them via Messenger for the reservation

Even though the meal is what the chef has prepared that day, he can accommodate special dietary needs. One of my party doesn't eat shellfish or pork, and is lactose intolerant, and he was able to manage that easily. She did miss one or two items that were dairy-based, but there were substitutions. I had asked about that in advance and was assured that it wouldn't be a problem, and it wasn't. I made the reservation using their email, worked seamlessly.
