Do you have any particular recommendations for places or venues to listen to Fado in Lisbon?
We loved Sr. Fado in the Alfama. Reservations needed. Very small and very intimate. About 25 seats. Great food. After the kitchen closes, no one else is allowed in the place. Performers are family, own and run the restaurant. They sit in the middle of the tables. Performances are not every night.
We also went to a more touristy place, Senhor Vinho. Much bigger, fancier and more famous. Reservations needed. Performances every night, I think. Performers are on a stage-like area. Enjoyable, but we didn't like it nearly so much as Sr. Fado.
thank you Lo for your recommendations. I will follow up with them.
Happy travels, Linda
