Evora: Day trip or overnight?

All,
I will be staying for 3 weeks in Lisbon in late June, two of which will be by myself. I was thinking of some side trips which are doable by train. Evora seems to be quite interesting. I was wondering if a day trip is worth it of should I spring for a hotel. As I will be paying for my AirBnB in Lisbon, I would like to keep my lodging costs in Evora reasonable.

Suggestions?

Evora is worth an overnight or two. It's an easy-to-walk-around-and-enjoy town. Keep in mind, though, that it will be markedly hotter and drier there, so evening strolling will be more pleasant. There are several good restaurants, and we enjoyed the food in Evora even more than Lisbon. Definitely try carne de porco Alentejana. It's pork loin, white wine, garlic and clams with a dash of piri piri. Sounds weird, pork and clams, but it's delicious. Alentejo pigs eat acorns of several different oaks, including cork oaks, which makes the meat particularly tasty. Also try the local dry-cured ham, which is sliced to order and served with a sheep's milk cheese as an appetizer. Yum. Another day would also give you a chance to do a cork farm expedition, if that interests you.
