Evora

We are going to be traveling in Portugal in October using public transport .I am unable to get the bus and train times for then to coordinate connections.. anyone aware of when the timetables are published? or if they change a lot ?

Do we need to spend longer than a day in Evora?
We plan to travel to Evora on an early bus from Lisbon and doing the megalith tour in the afternoon. The last bus back to Lisbon, posted at this time, is 7 30pm.

I’ve only taken the train to Evora but it is very easy and pretty fast. The times for the train that are published for the next month will be the same in the fall, so you can plan. I would assume it’s the same for the bus, but don’t know for certain.
The Megalith tour in Evora is very good and worth your time. But, it will leave you virtually no time to see the town. I would recommend staying at least one night, as Evora is a lovely town.

Thank you. I think we are going to put it on the end of our trip and travel from the Algarve, spend the night then to Lisbon for a night before we fly home.
The museums are closed on Mondays and the Tour doesn't run on Sunday ! This is the only way we can work it for an overnight !

Definitely make charming Evora an overnight stop. Follow Rick’s walking tour and, if possible, have dinner at Botequim da Mouraria. Only 10 seats and you eat at the counter. So arrive about 45 minutes before they open the door and grab a seat and enjoy some of the best food in Portugal.
