E gates now open in Lisbon Airport

Great news for the red eye travels not having to stand in hours long lines.

Good new. But do we still need Covid test to enter Portugal (even we are fully vaccinated in Canada/USA)? Hope that Portugal will accept our vaccination soon.

Does anyone know if our Canadian (and American) passports need anything special to use these gates? Or do we all get to use them?

For the ignorant here, I assume this means that if you have a U.S. passport with the data chip you can use the e-gates without any other procedures i.e. it's not like signing up for global entry, tsa-pre, etc.

If it has the chip there is a small symbol on the cover that looks like two narrow rectangles on top of one another with a small circle in the middle. Whether you have it may depend on when you last renewed yours,
