Would appreciate recommendations for a 1 day boat trip to experience the Duoro Valley that starts and ends in Porto.

We did a 7 day Douro River cruise and it was fantastic. A one day cruise from Porto would be OK, but that portion of the river is not as scenic as farther upriver.
Consider taking the train up to Regua or Pinhao. The train runs along the north bank of the river. Those to towns are in very scenic areas.
