The Wedding is at H10_Duque de Loule, they can't give me a total stay, i would have to leave two nights of the wedding and then come back. $180 pernight . Their was a very nice suggestion on the Forum to rent an apartment for 11 nights. I am nervious about renting because i have never done this before. I do not want to make a mistake.what do you experienced travelers suggest to a older woman traveling alone.
I assume you most likely want to stay near the other wedding guests so wouldn’t want to give up the days you have booked there. Why don’t you ask the hotel what other hotels are nearby? Or go to booking.com and do a location search for nearby hotels. We stay in apartments all the time but as a solo attached to a wedding event , I think another hotel for those two nights would be best. It looks like the hotel is the center of the city with many hotels around it.
If I were you, I would find a hotel close to the H10_Duque de Loule (which looks gorgeous by the way) - either email the hotel and ask for their suggestions, or check out this map:
I would rather be staying in a hotel with at least a front desk staff to help me in the event of a minor emergency than in an apartment. Two nights just isn't worth the trouble for an apartment, in my humble opinion. Especially since you're traveling alone, never done it before, etc.
Another thing, my first and great and commandment of travel is always always always book directly with a hotel or airline. That way, if anything goes wrong, the airline/hotel will deal with you directly - you won't be stuck dealing with a third party.
Thank you so much for your good advice. That was very helpful. Both replies. Much appreciated. I feel better at making my decision.
