We will be driving from Portugal into Spain soon. We will have GPS & a transponder. Will they both work in Spain ?

Via Verde Traveller transponder works in Portugal and some highways in Spain.

We use 2 different GPS apps, offline GPS with pre-downloaded maps for use in areas with bad reception and one live GPS where the signal is good and can update for accidents, road closures, detours.
