Driving between Parque Nacional Peneda-Geres and Montanaro

Has anyone driven this before? It's quite long to do in one shot--4hrs 35min so I'd like to split it up. Any ideas of something to stop and explore, hike and/or see along that road? Much appreciated. Thank you!
