We ( 2 couples)are planning a trip to Portugal and plan to be in Porto at the start of our trip for four nights in early May 2022. Wondering if anyone has experience with a tour to the Douro and could recommend a day trip for four their. We are not planning on having a car for this portion of our trip.Thanks in advance

We took a boat out / train back day trip that we booked from one of the tour flogging shops on the main street. Its been a couple years now but if memory serves there are a couple of operators who may be covered in the guidebooks. Don't remember the name of the one we took but it was satisfactory, nothing exceptional but we got to view the scenery and learn a few things while on a very relaxing cruise. Long day but worth it.

In 2019, I did a Douro day tours from Porto with Cool Tours Oporto. They offered small group tours with max. 8 in a van. We visited family owned and operated quintas. It was very easy to arrange and an enjoyable day. They picked me up and dropped me off near my B&B. It included a boat ride and a nice lunch in a restaurant.
