My husband and I are planning a day in the Douro Valley and would love recommendations for a private tour that picks us up and drops us off in Porto. We’re hoping to see a few scenic areas along the way (vineyards, viewpoints, maybe a winery stop or two), and would like a relaxed, personalized experience just for the two of us rather than a big group.
Has anyone used a private guide or driver-tour that they loved? Any specific companies, guides, or routes you’d recommend? And if you’ve done one with tastings or a boat cruise, we’d love to hear about how that went too.
Also curious what you’d consider a reasonable price range for a quality private tour. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Cooltours Oporto offers private as well as small group day tours that do what you describe. I have only done the small group (max 8) van tour, which I enjoyed. This operator's offerings might give you a point of comparison as a start.

We just finished doing this tour. Found a company called Living Tours Porto on TripAdvisor. We had 5 people on our tour (a full van would be 8 people). Picked us up at our Porto hotel, stopped for a break during the tour in Amarante (which was very nice). Then went to Pinhao for a scenic 45 minute boat ride. Continued on to two wineries - a larger commercial one and a smaller, family run one where we were served lunch.
The day was close to perfect - and cost $117 USD per person.
