Looking for feedback re a day spent with a local guide touring Douro Valley- boat ride, wine tasting x3, local meal. Worthy of one whole day out of three? What makes a great tour? Thanks.
The Douro Valley is known for its challenging roads, making a Guided Tour is maybe the best option. Top companies like Cooltour Oporto or Douro First will take you to small producers, offering a special day filled with insights and delightful tastings. Alternatively, you can choose a more general tour with larger groups, such as CM or Efun Tours, which will visit larger producers. While all tours may include a boat tour, the experiences will vary significantly. Prices can be adjusted based on your preferences.
After seeing the previous 2 replies, I may need to say that I am not a robot, an advertiser, or an AI user. I did a Duoro tour with Cooltours Oporto in 2019. I recommend it for the same reasons goncalo.nuno.castanho states. I wouldn't want to combine wine tasting with navigating the hills and turns. I enjoyed the small group of 8 or 9 and visiting smaller, family run growers.
