Douro valley--family style meal at a winery

Greetings!

I'd like to do a Douro Valley tour from Porto with our group.    Some of the most memorable experiences,  that we've had during our past trips, were meals at private homes or wineries.   For example, our first dinner in Andalusia was at a family run winery Bodega Garcia.  I highly recommend it.   http://bodegasgarciahidalgo.es/webold/   We enjoyed it tremendously.  We've also had lunches and dinners at private homes in Armenia, Romania, and Georgia.  Made for some of the best memories!   For Japanese ladies, this is trully one of a kind experience.

I've been searching for something similar in Douro Valley.  Got excited when I found a place featured in a TV program called "Food trippers".  However, after emailing the winery, I was told that they have stopped doing these "family style meals".    So far I am unable to find anything close to what I am looking for.

I would really appreciate if someone could share their experiences. Maybe someone has a great small family style winery that could welcome us for a homemade lunch?

Thank you!

We stayed overnight at the Quinta de Marrocos in Peso da Regua. It's a small family run winery and they offer a tour with tasting and a dinner with wine. You could contact them and inquire about a lunch.

Carolyn! This is great! It looks like a really nice, down to earth, working, family owned winery. Kind of what I was looking for. I just need to figure out if the location works with the rest of the itinerary.

I think it'd be fun to put a small family owned winery in combination to other more famous producers. We are not really huge drinkers-- we go mostly for the human interacion and to get a more authentic experience. Famous wineries, after all , you can just buy their products at any supermarket, can't you? ;)
