I'm looking for recommendations for specific companies or tours for the Douro Valley. I'm staying 4 days in Porto, September 13-16. Do you recommend a short 1-3 hour cruise or one of the all-day cruises with wine tasting and lunch? I'm traveling solo. I'm not a big drinker but definitely like wine. I'm interested in scenery and an experience if that helps. Would it be better to do an all-day tour or a short cruise and wine/port tasting in town?

We have stayed in the Pinhoa in the past and really enjoyed it but for that reason, I am interested in a doing a the full day version of the boat tour from Porto. I'd really like to go through the locks etc. I know it takes about 6 hours on the boat and it looks like most companies put you on a bus for the other part of the trip. I actually looked into the company that's recommended in Rick's book and they don't seem to get great reviews. I'm wondering, like the person above, if anyone has experience with a specific company.
