Does anyone have any experience on a Douro River Cruise (Porto - Salmanca) in late November? My chief concern is the weather. Would it be a cold and drizzly vacation? Are attractions closed or have limited hours. Would hate to spend all that money and have a poor experience. Would Lisbon and Algarve have substantially better weather that time of year? Thanks.

It will be a bit chilly in late November according to the link I provided. Still, that is not a bad time.
As we get older (we are in our late 70s) we prefer warmer weather. Highs in the low 60s is OK, but not what we would want.
Might work for. you.
Lisbon would be a bit warmer, never been to the Algarve.

Im unsure if you’re aware, but many river cruises are getting cancelled due to the extremely low water levels as the summer draws to a close. There has been severe drought in Europe this past summer, particularly the Rivers Danube and Douro.
There have been some news items on the BBC, this past week regarding vessels getting stranded on sandbanks, causing coaches to connect passengers in between itineraries. Not the best news, especially if you’ve spent hard earned cash “upgrading” to a more expensive cabin.
Regarding The Algarve. It is cooler in November and can be rainy. Lisbon cooler still. However it can also be sunny, tho the nights draw in and the days are shorter. Many less people around and no crowds to contend with. It sure beats the snow and ice tho, depending where you live.
Apologies if this sounds very negative. Spring is much nicer, (in my opinion) tho Easter time it’s crowded everywhere!
