Anyone know if there is direct bus service from the Lisbon Portela airport to Tavera in the Algarve and/or where
I can get some more info?

It appears that there is no direct service. You'll have to go into Lisbon and change buses. You can investigate further by following the links available if you drill down on Rome2Rio.
