Dinner first night in Porto

We will be arriving in Porto at midday after a transatlantic flight. Lunch location has been selected, but we are still looking for a good option for an early dinner near Av dos Aliados, knowing we will be tired, overwhelmed, disoriented and pumped up on first-day adrenaline.

Hi Steve. Can you share your lunch spot? We have a similar first day in Porto.

Thanks

Scott

Hi Scott
The lunch place is called Conga, for the pork sandwich called bifuna. It’s about a block east of Avenue dos Aliados.

Hi Steve!

What do you mean by early? Tradicional restaurants usually start service at 19:30h. If that is early enough for you I can suggest a few.

"Pedro dos Frangos". Their piri-piri chicken is the best in town. They are next door after Conga. "Guarany", at Av dos Aliados. Kind of fancy, but good. "O Buraco" - real portuguese food, at Rua do Bolhão (that has nothing to do with the market with the same name) - cheap and very good! "O Marinheiro", at Praça Filipa de Lencastre - very traditional, good food, good prices. "Palmeira" at Rua Sá da Bandeira - the kind of restaurant where my family likes to go. "Abadia" - very, very traditional, not exactly cheap but not expensive either. And there is another one, that I promised to myself never to share in public, so I'm going to send you a private message (two members of this forum went there, Priscilla and Chani, but just because we were all together having dinner there).
