Departing from Lisbon using automatic gates

If I enter the Schengen states in Switzerland and then return to the US from Lisbon (meaning I don't have an entry stamps from Portugal), can I use the eGates at Lisbon airport? Thank you.

Each time we flew from within Europe to Portugal it was considered a domestic flight, no passport control.

When we flew into Portugal from North America we had to go through passport control, the egates require a digital enabled passport ( it will have a circle inside a rectangle on the front page) however the egates didn't work properly ( it's common) we had to proceed to manual passport control.

I just flew back from Lisbon. You have to go through passport control to exit, and this requires an officer physically seeing and stamping your passport. This is an undermanned airport relative to traffic, and there can be long lines there mid-morning, saw them when on our way in.

Note that, unless I am mistaken, your exit from a Schengen country to a non-Schengen country a;waysrequires a manual review and stamp, no matter where. That you entered that country from another Schengen country is irrelevant, the issue is in and out of the Schengen area.

And yes, you can use the e-gates on entry there, but it still required a manual stamp.

Thank you for your replies.

Is there an express lane (either for security or passport control) for Business class passengers? My SO's flight departs at 11am on a weekday.

Just went through Passport control in Lisbon for 7:40 flight. The egates did not work for us and we needed to go through regular passport control. No line.

For security, early in the morning about 5:00 am, there was 15 minute wait. Since you are leaving later, I anticipate there will be some more traffic.
