Day trip from Fatima to Tomar

We will be using Fatima as a base to travel around central Portugal next month (September). We have earmarked a day for visiting Tomar. Public transportation is a non-starter, and it appears that ride share (Bolt or Uber) or taxi might be the best option for the journey from Fatima. However, the return might be more of a challenge since fewer ride share drivers may be available in Tomar, especially later in the day.

Would appreciate your guidance if you have made this trip.

Thank you.

Maybe consider a one day car rental. It would cost less than two ride share rides. Tomar is about a 40 minutes drive from Fátima. If you did rent a car the driver would need an IDP that you can get at AAA.

Thank you for your advice.
I considered renting a car, but I found out that when renting, a vehicle with automatic transmission is not guaranteed. I has been over 40-years since I have driven stick & do not want to relearn it while on vacation.

I did a quick search on Rome2Rio and found two taxi companies in Tomar. Might be a better option that re-learning a stick shift. BTW, Tomar is a wonderful small city for a day's visit.
