Can I use public transportation or get in a restaurant in Portugal with only a negative Covid test and unvaccinated?
The good news is Portugal has one of the highest vaccination rates in the world, it's like greater than 80%.
Many airlines are requiring proof of covid vaccinations to fly on their aircraft.
You can get in but you can't go to any bars or get out via air or sea.
It is mandatory to present EU COVID Digital Certificate in:
- Major cultural and sporting events (check the event website for more info);
- Bars and clubs;
- Visits to health facilities;
- Travel by air or sea
The easiest solution is to get the shots. Country entry rules change from time to time.
I wonder for how long a negative test would be accepted. Would a retesting have to be done, and documented, every few days?
I want to write this in the most respectful way possible but why would you travel and subject people in another country to the possibility of spreading the virus? Portugal is a small country with fewer resources than the US. We have endured two lengthy lockdowns in the last two winters. It is your right to not be vaccinated but please don’t travel to Portugal is that’s your choice.
As someone who has visited Portugal twice and loves both the country and the people, I urge you to NOT GO IF YOU WON'T GET VACINATED.
As an American, you evidently have the right to be a crackpot, but let's not export it.
You can't enter the country without being vaccinated https://www.visitportugal.com/en/content/covid-19-measures-implemented-portugal
