Covid testing timing question

Hello,
Anyone who has recently traveled to Portugal, please advise.

My husband and I depart Minneapolis at 12:45 pm Monday October 4th for New York. We then depart JFK at 7:35 pm Eastern time for Lisbon. Right now we are scheduled for our Covid test Friday, October 1st at 6:30 pm Central time, the last appointment of the day. (We chose this after reading of a slow down in getting test results.) The Portugal info states 72 hours from the last departing flight. Are we going to be questioned on this being outside of the 72 hour window? Should we schedule our test first thing Saturday morning and hope to get the results prior to our flight out of MSP?
Thank you!

Antigen tests are quicker and perhaps easier to find / taken within 48 hours of boarding.

Hi dc weil,
if you are indeed in Minneapolis, you can just go to CVS and get tested on the weekend. You don't have to do it on a weekday. If you go to their website, their Hennepin Ave location can do the rapid test for travel on the weekend. The results come back within a couple hours- and they still have appointments available for this upcoming weekend. Take a look and let me know if you need more help. This way you can get your test done easily within the timeframe so you don't have to worry about anyone challenging it (no idea if they would or not).

I am traveling to Lisbon on October 10 on United. I depart Phoenix and have a 4 hour layover in Newark. United uses a travel ready center where you upload your passport and test results prior to departing. According to the travel ready center I can take my test with 72 hours of my departure from Phoenix, not from Newark because it is on the same itinerary. If I booked separately to get to Newark from my flight to Lisbon I would have to use the Newark departure time. That being said I am planning to wait until I’m within 72 hours of my Newark flight just in case.
