Hello. Has anyone recently traveled to Lisbon from the US and presented a Covid Recovery letter from a doctor along with the positive PCR test results? We are traveling next week and although we do have a CVS PCR/NAAT test scheduled 72 hours before we leave, we are concerned that we will test positive since we did have Covid 3 weeks ago. Our doctor said it is very possible that we will still test positive, so he provided the letter showing when we tested positive and that we are fully recovered. Thanks in advance for the info.
I am in the same situation, planning to travel in mid-July. Does anyone have any answer to this? I don't even know where to call to find out. I can't find anything online and am quite stressed about it.
What you may want to search for is if anyone is even being checked anymore. I believe (but cannot confirm) that the rules are still on the books, but wonder if anyone is being stopped.
FWIIW, when my wife entered on the 13th, they were selective checking for COVID vacine cards. Our US cardboard ones were all they asked to see
Dennis (Still in Lisboa)
Thank you Dennis, that does make me feel a bit better. I like to follow all guidelines traveling abroad, but the guidelines with regards to my situation seem unknown. Hoping all goes well!
We flew USA through Madrid to Lisbon 6-14-22. Our test negative results were checked at the US departure counter. Passengers going on to Lisbon had to present proof of recovery or a negative test result before boarding passes were issued. Passengers going just to Madrid were not checked. A gentleman headed to Lisbon was directed to go to a location in the airport to get a rapid test and return with proof of a negative result before a boarding pass was issued.
It's strange how different sites all say different things! I hadn't thought of looking at TAP airlines website...great idea. And I'm glad to hear that recovery letters were being accepted in Madrid; I will definitely have one of those with me.
