Cork purses

I don’t own one, but Evora comes to mind as a possibility. The cork forests nearby are amazing to drive through. Most of the shaved bark is destined for wine bottle stoppers, but I bet that other goods are made from it, too.

My daughter bought a cork purse after a personal tour of a cork “factory” that we happened to be driving by on the way to Elvis from Evora. But, when we were in Lagos a week later there were many stalls along the riverfront with cork items for sale…more expensive but readily available. Hope that helps!

You will see cork purses everywhere but a lot of them are pretty shoddy. Two stores in Lisbon offer much higher quality items. Cork & Co. and Forms, Lda. You can google the addresses. I have purchased a number of items from Forms and have been very pleased with the quality and durability.
