Connecting through LIS - not much time

Hi. I am flying from the US to Lisbon en route to Paris (US-LIS is same ticket, LIS to Paris is a different ticket). I have an hour layover in LIS (both landing and taking off from Termminal 1) and am wondering if this is enough time to clear customs and make my plane to Paris. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

If you are self connecting, I'd say no. That is not enough time. If your ticket from Lisbon to Paris is on TAP, the gate closes 30 min before departure. So you have 30 minutes to get off the plane, go through immigration and get to your new gate. And if you have checked in luggage, add retrieving luggage and another security check to the list.

My guess is your chance of success is about equal to that of a snowball in Satan's domicile.

When you were booking the trip did you try to get a single ticket that included your combination of flights? If there was no such connection it is probably because no airline saw such a short time frame as feasible.

At the beginning of August, we were in line for over 2 hours to clear customs. That is after our airplane arrived a hour late, due to all of the additional requirements driven by COVID (at least that is what they told us).

When we left Lisbon at the end of August and looked at the line for arrivals, it was even longer.

Lisbon airport is an undersized, delay-prone mess (or at least it was pre-pandemic), so you made a good call!
