Coimbra for two nights/hotel recommendation?

Will be driving from Douro Valley and planning on two nights in Coimbra (Spring 2020.) We're looking for hotel recommendations in central Coimbra location, easy walk to university, restaurants, etc. and convenient parking. Obrigada!

We stayed at Riversuites on the RS Portugal Tour several years ago. It was a comfortable accommodation, faced the river, had a lovely large quiet patio for relaxing, centrally located and was a short easy walk across the bridge to restaurants and sights. I can't speak to the parking situation. We especially enjoyed the restaurants, the University Tour and Fado performance. Lovely city, and kind people. De Nada!

Hotel Domus worked well for us. It is in an excellent location and there is a parking garage nearby. The rooms have lots of character and there is no elevator. Breakfast was fine. The location cannot be beat, especially for the price. For a short stay, I would recommend it.

I spent a good bit of time last week looking for hotel with parking in Coimbra.
Use booking.com and set filter for "parking" then read the reviews specifically about how the parking works.
The 2 that I found to be best location and ease of parking were Tivoli Coimbra and Hotel Oslo.
There is a parking garage across the street from Hotel Oslo. Their rate includes parking so I suspect they use that parking garage. Tivoli charges 10 E/day for parking and it sounds like they rent/own spaces in a nearby parking garage- probably same one Oslo uses.
Oslo seems to be a slightly better location and looks quite nice- views from roof deck, etc.

Riversuites offers only street parking and as far as I can tell there is no parking garage nearby on that side of river.
Street parking seems iffy

My daughter and I stayed at Hotel Vitória, conveniently located near the train station. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good, and it’s served in their restaurant. We also enjoyed one dinner at their restaurant.

Not sure about parking, although their website lists parking under “services”

Have a wonderful trip!

We were just in Coimbra a few weeks ago and stayed at the RiverSuites Hotel and while the hotel is just a short walk across the river to town, the hotel is pretty basic without much character. Perhaps an email to the hotel regarding parking would clarify your question.

We booked Hotel Vitoria with and additional parking fee of 5 euro per day. Booked a terrace room as per RS book suggestion. Will be there for 3 nights in later October.
