Coimbra accommodation

Looking for recommendations for Coimbra. We’d like something outside city center, but easy, walkable access to it. We need parking. We’d like to stay under about 80 euro, prefer, smaller, family owned though we’ll stay at the Ibis if need be.

Restaurant and scenic view recommendations also welcome.

Thanks

We stayed at the Hotel Oslo in 2021. It's clean, friendly, decent breakfast buffet, good location. Walking distance to an excellent Italian restaurant, Il Tartufo. We had a room on the top floor that had a view of the university.

We stayed at Riversuites on our RS Portugal Tour a few years ago. It was a comfortable, clean, basic hotel. It’s next to the river and convenient to restaurants. Easy walk to sights. It was family owned and the staff was very helpful. The breakfast was very good. We especially enjoyed their shaded back patio at the end of our sightseeing day. I believe they provide parking 3 blocks away. Great reviews on Booking.com. One evening we went to a Fado performance for dinner. The second night our host recommended a restaurant across the river. It had a lovely view. Check website for pricing. Enjoy Coimbra!

In Condeixa a Nova there's a nice pousada to explore a tiny town. Located right outside Coimbra

We stayed across the Mondego River in an Airbnb near the Santa Clara Aldi (food store). 15 min walk to Coimbra main town and had easy/free street parking. Would meet all your needs!

I'm pleased that there are Aldis in Portugal!

I've reserved at River Suites.

We reserved at Hotel Mondego. Appears to be in a recently restored building. It’s about a 1/2 mile walk from where you’re staying.

Stayed at Guest House Santa Clara (RS recommended also on Booking.com) which is opposite the RS recommended Riversuites. Ideal as there is free underground parking 2 blocks away at "Parking Convent San Francisco". Great views across the river bridge but avouds the traffic and built up old city center area. No breakfast but good pastry shop opposite and Dona Taska for evening/ lunch meal (RS recommendation that was a good meal)
