Central Portugal (Obidos/Nazare area) touring suggestions

My husband and I will be Central Portugal (Obidos/Nazare area) for several nights at the end of April. What towns and unique sites would you recommend. Also, restaurant recommendations. Thank you Christine

Visit Alcobaça Monastery, simple lines, strong, beautiful edifice. Portuguese royalty are buried there. We had a great seafood lunch in Nazare overlooking the beach and ocean. We stayed in Obidos, a very nice pousada, but the town is worth only an hour or two. Small, over touristed.

Battalha (best Manueline architecture in all Portugal) and Alcobaca.

I also reccommend getting into Obidos late in the afternoon, and leave it before noon of next day, and avoid it on the weekends. The crowds kill all the fun. But the town is pretty and pictureseque.

Tomar is worth a visit for the Templar Knights Convent of Christ. The chapel is stunning. There are caves in the area (we did not visit) and a quarry with dinosaur tracks which was very interesting. I loved the ornate stonework of Batalha monastery but Alcobaca was impressive in other ways.
