Central Portugal

My wife and I will be traveling to Portugal in late September and early October. It will be our first time in the country and we have 15 nights and 14 days. So far, we have the following planned:

...5 nights, 4 days in Lisbon (includes 1 day for Sintra)
...2 nights, 1day in Douro Valley (for the harvest)
...3 nights, 2 days in Porto

This leaves us 5 nights and 4 days. We were originally tempted to go to the Algarve, but based on this forum am leaning against. Would like to see Coimbra and the historic sites around Nazare.

My questions...

  1. Should we include Evora? If so, how long?
  2. Is Coimbra too far away from the Nazare/fatima/alcobaca/obidos sites to do day trips? If so, and we dont go to Evora, how would you divide the 5 days/4 nights?

Look forward to your feedback.

I really like Evora. If you go, staying two nights is enough if you don’t want to visit wineries in the Alentejo. If you go, there is a tour to the Megaliths outside of town led by an archeologist that is fantastic. It was the highlight of my first trip to Evora..
Coimbra may be a bit too far away from Obidos but is likely close enough to the other places you mention. The other option is to drop Evora, stay a couple of nights in Coimbra then three nights in a central location on the ‘silver coast’ so you can visit the other places you mention. My scouting trip to Portugal, we stayed a week in São Martinho do Porto and drove all over the region.
