Hello all,
Thanks in advance for your insight.
I’m a beach lover and looking forward to “RS Best of Spain in 14 days”
I’m going to go to Sitges Spain pre trip- already reached out to forum members and received some great advice!
Next- I’ve been to most of Europe and have a few days after the trip to make some other memories.
Does anyone have any suggestions for leaving Sevilla and visiting a place without a car? The first few days of October.
I’m looking at Cascais Portugal for a couple of days. It’s a great opportunity and the airplane back to U.S. from Lisbon fits perfectly in my itinerary.
Thinking about Hotel Albatroz In Cascais then a couple days in Lisbon October too cold for beach time in Cascais? Side trip to Sintra?
Beach lover travelling solo, after the tour, looking for advice for 5 short days in Portugal with flying out of Lisbon the last day. 3 days in Cascais in October at Hotel Albatroz and then two days in Lisbon near Chiado/ Barrio area Hotel?
Thanks so much! Any tips appreciated
Lisa
Lisbon October too cold for beach time in Cascais?
I was in Lisbon last week, including an afternoon in Cascais. It was quite warm enough for beach time in my book. Now this week is cooler, with showers most of the week.
Side trip to Sintra? Any tips appreciated
Depending on your interests, this thread has some Sintra insights, including my own, that may help you decide whether to go there and what to do once there:

Maybe it is just me, but I found Cascais very underwhelming. Tiny beaches in town with a shore front such that you can’t walk from beach to beach. Maybe better beaches out of the center? Perhaps fellow beach lovers can weigh in for you.
The Albatroz is lovely, has a great location with amazing views. It’s a favorite for drinks on their terrace. They remodeled the interior the year before Covid, so it should still be like new.
The first part of October is usually beach weather as it stays warm until well into November most years.
A day trip to Sintra is very doable. There are two city buses that will take you there or an Uber is very reasonable.
The beaches in town are small. If you have a car, you can drive 10 minutes to Guincho, which is quite large and pretty spectacular.
Thank you so much everyone! I appreciate your help.
I think I’m going to stick with Cascais and Lisbon. I’ve never been to Portugal so will be a nice mini- visit.
I was looking at Mallorca Spain, also, it’s a direct flight from Sevilla and seems to have lovely beaches. But the logistics of getting home seemed a bit too much for a 3 day trip- probably have to fly to Barcelona the night before and leave out for the US the next day. Also I don’t want to rent a car.
Staying in Cascais then Lisbon seems a more viable option since the flight home from Lisbon fits great into my plans, very convenient.
Thanks again!
Thanks especially kathrynj I see your location is Cascais so it can’t get any better for updated information!
Thanks for your response, makes me feel secure in my choices.
And also- cwsocial thanks so much for your detailed info also, since you are currently there!
Thank you, thank you everyone
While in Caiscais we did the 3k walk/ promenade to Estoril which we enjoyed.
Thanks Suki! I always appreciate your advice 😊
