Does anyone have recommendations for car companies in terms of renting a car out of Lisbon and also out of Ponte Delgado? The last time I saw a post for this was 5 years ago so I was hoping for more recent advice. Thank you so much!

At the top of this Portugal Forum is a post written by the webmaster, titled “ Azores Islands Travel Advice”. In it is a link to a “Freemium” that I wrote regarding almost everything you need to know about visiting the Azores. There is a section regarding car rentals in the Azores.
There are numerous companies in Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel, Azores, and the reviews for pretty much all of them are all over the place.
Whichever company you choose, look over recent reviews and why the reviewer wrote what they did. Some people complain just to complain, while others have valid complaints. Most important, know the hours the company is open, and whether this will impact your arrival and departure flights. Summer car rental prices have skyrocketed in the Azores. Read the fine print of what is included. Essentially, read through the freemium.
I have rented from numerous companies over the course of almost 30 years visiting the Azores. I do not have a particular favorite.

I have a similar question as Lisa. We are looking to rent a car in Lisbon in June. The best rates I see are through Zest using Master Kings agency. Can anyone share any experience using this company? Thanks.
